Caecilia
Once upon a time there was a beautiful statue called Caecilia. You could find her in a particularly beautiful church not far from here, right next to the organ.
Impressed by her beauty, people came from far and wide to admire her. But when you got very close, one could see that she had a very sad look in her eyes. She was alone.
But…… She hasn’t always been alone.
A long time ago, next to the beautiful Caecilia stood another statue: Bortus. Caecilia and Bortus were the best of friends. They stood proudly and stately on their pedestal, next to the organ in this beautiful church, where they could see everyone very well. They had the greatest fun together.
But then one day, something terrible happened. After a stormy night, so much that the ground was shaking, the sun slowly rose again and there was Bortus. He had fallen from his pedestal, on the stone floor and had broken into a 1000 pieces. Where once a beautiful, proud and grand statue had stood, now only laid a pile of stones. And Caecilia is left alone…. But then one day something special happened.
A story about true friendship and the power of love and music.
‘Caecilia’ is a theatrical concert with Ton Koopman on the organ. It’s a concert for children from the age of 4 and up.
